Key Skills Portfolio Assisted Learning
The ePortfolio is a developing concept in the presentation of both professional and personal information. It provides an opportunity for any individual to demonstrate their ability to collect, organise, interpret and reflect on the sources of this information, and develop methods of presenting it that considers the changing needs of the knowledge society.
The main activities during the project were:
- Benchmarking Report - benchmarking key (or essential/basic) skills throughout the EU to see what common skills might be included, and what differences in content and approach are evident. The key skills identified by the benchmarking report are set out in the following table:
- ePortfolio Users' Guide - a practical guide for young adult users of an ePortfolio
- ePortfolio Tutors' Guide - a practical guide for those who tutor young adult users in the production of ePortfolios
- Pilot programmes - programmes to explore the use of different ePortfolio approaches for the acquisition of skills with young adults, particularly those alienated from learning
- Network of Experts - a collaborative network of professionals using the ePortfoilio with young adults to enable them to acquire key skills
- Recommendations - a series of recommendations for all public and private services contributing to the inclusion of young adults, in the use of individual ePortfolios as a tool to communicate etc - but under the control of the young adult authors themselves
- Recommendations - a series of recommendations to publishers of ePortfolios and ePortfolio- related technologies to assist the successful use and engagement with this technology and these practices
- Dissemination Workshops - a series of seminars and workshops to collect and publish information about the results of the project, in three languages (FR, EN and IT)
