QUICNEZEE - Not QUICK and EASY but QUICK to access with EASY to follow instructions

Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Yorkshire Forward, Quiclearn is a project that was developed and managed by MRS. Its aim was to promote wider access to lifelong learning.

The project focused on encouraging the "hard to reach" to gain basic ICT skills through an innovative approach. Participants were encouraged to learn new skills, develop their existing knowledge and achieve relevant qualifications.

The QuicNezee modules for this project were tested and developed with assistance of representatives from the learning industry, consumer marketing, multi-media production and project management personnel. The processes included:

Quiclearn targets the employed and unemployed with low skills. Specific groups include early school leavers, those people who are being forced to change their careers, people with barriers to learning - eg single parents and the disabled, and finally unskilled and semi-skilled workers.

Through a combination of contracted providers, mobile units and a tactical task force, target consumers were invited to participate in a variety of fun and interesting activities such as designing and printing their own t-shirts and making music CDs. Poster advertising took place, all the equipment was provided - leaving participants to just turn up and have a go.

A total of 1,848 learners took part with 606 gaining an ASET qualification.

From their Head Office, MRS managed the development and marketing for this product. As well as carrying out extensive market research into the project and testing related concepts, MRS was responsible for developing marketing plans for the product in addition to managing the design of the product and all the associated marketing material.
