e3 Project -
European Centre of Excellence for eLearning

The aim of the e3 project was to create a European Centre of Excellence for eLearning. The centre has been created to meet changing learner needs in the emerging Information and Knowledge Society. It will provide easy access to all existing information on eLearning in Europe for those with a professional or research interest in eLearning.

MRS's involvement in this project reflects their wide experience in the development of virtual learning environments. In addition to leading the research and analysis of the regional mapping exercise, MRS is also involved in the following e3 activities:-

• Identifying existing eLearning resources in our region and defining the necessary quality criteria that such resources should have.
• Informing agents involved in eLearning of the need to create and make use of a European Centre of Excellence in eLearning
• Developing a European Centre of Excellence in eLearning
• Making all existing European Information available to professionals and users.
• Promoting the design, development, experimentation, evaluation and dissemination of products, tools, methods and approaches that will introduce an environment of eLearning.
• Developing new tools, services and products for eLearning.
